MLB best bets, strikeout props for Monday 7/31: Canning to cool off in Hot 'Lanta

Fresh off another winning week in strikeout props (9-6), we're back to do it all over again. Let's start off the new week strong with my three favorite K props for Monday's MLB slate.

Edward Cabrera over 5.5 Ks (-120 DraftKings)

Edward Cabrera has been a sturdy pitcher to back in the strikeout market at home. The right-hander is averaging 7.0 Ks in home starts this season versus 4.8 Ks in away starts. On Monday, he gets to face a struggling Philadelphia Phillies lineup that's recorded the fourth-most strikeouts per game (10.0) over the last 15 days. Take the over.

George Kirby under 5.5 Ks (+122 FD)

George Kirby's recent performances of nine and 10 strikeouts are hiking up this number, but both starts came against the Minnesota Twins, the worst offense in MLB this season in terms of striking out. It won't be as easy of a task Monday against the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox have the second-highest batting average against righties this year, and they've recorded the fifth-fewest strikeouts in the league over the last two weeks. The plus money is just a bonus here.

Griffin Canning under 5.5 Ks (-140 DK)

This Atlanta Braves lineup has the ability to go nuclear on any given day, and Monday seems to be a good bet with the wind blowing straight out at Truist Park. The Braves lead MLB this year in OPS against right-handed pitching (.821), and they've been mashing of late with 29 runs over their last three games. Even though Griffin Canning has fanned 20 batters over his last two starts, I trust the Atlanta offense to hold him under this number.
